Paypal Issue
« on: May 02, 2011, 02:04:27 AM »
Hey all,

My friend is trying to pay me 1k through Paypal, so we made him an account (he's never had one), put all the correct info and verified his address and credit card. When I try to send me the $ though, no matter what I try (payment type, $500/$1000, etc) I get this message:
"Sorry, your payment won't go through. To make it work, you'll need to add money to your account and pay with your PayPal balance."

I googled it without finding any solutions.... Any ideas guys?

Thanks!

(Yes I am aware of Venmo, QuickPay, AMZN Payments, and that Paypal sucks!!!! so we can just leave that part out please!) :)
If you have my email PLEASE don't PM me :)

if you tried paying with a credit card you need to make sure its confirmed and then keep in mind that they charge the giver of a gift or reciever of a payment 2.9% +.30 cents. if you dont have that amount on the card it wont work. also they take off a dollar temporarily to confirm the info on the card so you dont have that dollar either. call them up and speak to a rep they help out alot

Sounds like you need to add funds to the account before you can send any money. Once you add money and the funds post then you should start a new transaction of sending the money.

Usually not, but it seems that is what they are asking him to do
