Receiving 100k amex plat promo without being targeted

Was able to ask for code 5748 and will get my additional 50,000 points in about 6-8 weeks.

Btw, the CS rep told me that code 5748 will be valid until 1/31/2012

i spoke to a rep who said that offer ended  in july.   a different rep gave it to me.     3882 seems to have expired.   5890 she couldn't find?      anyway, it seems at this point it's a big ymmv from amex on bumping the platinum; i'd think twice before applying if you're not willing to settle for the 25k.

I had the same exact issue with my PRG, they didn't want to give me the additional 60,000 because I got the platinum already. and they noted the account, so nobody was willing to give me that. right now, after 4 months, that my account got notated with tens of different notes I called and tried again, and walla, they weren't able to search thru all notes, so they just issued this manually. So, it might help waiting a few months.

This is my 2nd plat card. said they will note 5748 on my account and after i meet the spend req ($1000) I should call and they will manually credit the additional 75k pts (i had a 25k offer).

I have heard many recent confirmations that the offer is still very alive. The rep you spoke to was definitely wrong.
Many reps have confirmed that it goes until Jan 2013.

Are there different notes for each card? or each person? when do they delete off the account?

No there is no different notes for other cards, MR has their notes. but definitely each person separate. So even though they would not delete it, it's impossible to look thru 20 or 30 notes when a person is calling in, they usually look thru the last few notes. YMMV.

Actually, thats the reason why people are able to get 2 or 3 platinum's, and would they look thru all the notes....

the rep is one million% incorrect sorry i know people who have gotten the bump just this week so the only thing not applicable here is the ymmv!!!!

i'm aware people are still getting it.  i myself have gotten it twice this past week.   if some reps are saying it doesn't apply though it becomes a ymmv.       thought at the moment its still looking pretty good.

she's saying 5748 is for cards opened after February, and 3882 doesn't exist
