Also with the airline credit- I got messed up buying AA gift cards last time.

Bonus ID 5748 did not work with first call - rep said my account needed to be opened by 7/31.  SM did not work, rep said it was a targeted offer.

Third time is a charm.  Just got my account notated with bonus ID 5748.  Rep was vague with the expiration date but said it expires in 2012.

I guess everything still applies:  YMMV...If at first you don't succeed try again...be polite to the reps on the phone...

Don't say anything about not being targeted.  I told the agent that just after I applied I had heard about a new bonus promotion for the 100k bonus instead of the 50k I got and was wondering if they could apply that bonus to my account.  Bonus ID 5748.

I can give you a tip not to do :
don't bs around that you did get the email and your lost it etc.  Cuz I tried to do so and they told me they gana investigate if the marketing dept sent out an email to me (was by the spg ) . After 2 days they called me up saying after checking with my team  " I am sorry we couldn't find that email that was ever sent to you " !!!


P.s.   Don't worry after all I got my promo code assigned to my account  just keep on trying ...

I called back to try again, they said that they will notate that I am eligible for the offer, "but just remember that you have to fax it to us". What does that mean? Will I get it or do I need to call again?

I disagree. Sounds like they notated your account that you have to fax in proof of the targeted offer. If so, any rep that you ask to add the points will likely see that note and (at the very least) hesitate.

Well, one possible suggestion would be akin to bumping credit inquiries. In other words, if you call and have a number of other notations to your account, no rep would be able to sit there and read all of them while you're sitting on the phone. This method obviously has its drawbacks, chief among them is finding a way of getting your account sufficiently notated that this "fax" note is buried.

AFAIK, there is no public link for 100k; its solely a targeted offer.
