Well you have to admit Dan, there are more and more reports of this kind of stuff from people coming in.

Maybe they are getting crappy reps.

I got it today on my second try. First one said that it has expired. notated with a 50K bonus. asked her if possible to notate the account that if I get a better they should still honor it. she agreed. called back 2 minutes later, and said well I spoke earlier with someone and she told me that if i find a better one I could call in. she looked on the note, and said: "yes, did you actually find?", I gave 5748. worked wonderful.

BTW, corporate office put Tuesday a note on my account that no rep should honor anymore bonuses without written documentation, after squeezing out the bonus for the additionals (5721) on my PR gold card. But, seems that they didn't go thru that notes.

I called in on the 8/23 (or 8/25?) to get bonus 5748 applied.  The rep said OK and to call in after the $1k spend if I only get 25k on my MR account.  I saw the 25k post yesterday and I called today to get the rest of my points.  After being on hold for nearly 10 minutes, the rep came back on the line and said she was unable to manually add the points - the system would not let her. She says a supervisor will need to review the bonus ID and apply the points because I was not targeted for the offer.  She said since another rep said I could get the points, they will honor the request, but it will take several business days for it to get added.

please note call MR not amex i called amex and they wouldnt give me the better offer but then she transfered me to MR and they did it for me no problem

does anyone know of a way to get these posted earlier? if yes please share!!

Then what were you referring to on July 30th?

Well, one possible suggestion would be akin to bumping credit inquiries. In other words, if you call and have a number of other notations to your account, no rep would be able to sit there and read all of them while you're sitting on the phone. This method obviously has its drawbacks, chief among them is finding a way of getting your account sufficiently notated that this "fax" note is buried.

How many times do you think I would need to call for that to happen? Also, do they see all notes, or only from calls to MR? Do they notate your account every time you call in about anything? Thanks!

I wish I saw this thread before I applied, Can anyone tell me if code 5748 or 3882 works for the amex business platinum card? or just the personal card?


I just got my 25k points and have spent about 3k on it since I got the card about a month ago, do I just call in and say I got an email about this offer or just say I "heard" about this bonus code offer?

Call the MR department. Just say your friend received the 100k promotion and you are really dissapointed that you missed it, give them the bonus id # and don't be discouraged if you don't succeed on the first few phone calls, it seems to be taking more phone calls yet people are still being successfully matched.

Weird story,
A friend of mine says that he had already gotten his account noted when he called to get the points posted, he was told that the note was a mistake and he's not eligible,
Of course he tried to call back only to be told that there is no note on his account at all
