Receiving 100k amex plat promo without being targeted

I just got approved for the plat 50k and the gold 15k.what's the best way to go about raising the bonuses?
Go for the gold first cuz that seems like a sure thing?or go for the plat first that way they don't tell me don't be greedy and then try the gold?
Or how about both at once?

Anyone successfully get both additional bonuses? I got the addition 50K gold on the 1st try (it posted under the plat card, but mentions gold), and I applied for the plat at the end or March...

I applied for the plat in March, i sent a SM for the 100k and i was told that i applied after that promotion had ended.

hopefully a 100k plat offer comes out soon bc it seems like those that recently applied for the gold had better luck getting a match to 75k.  Although wife and I both gold match to 75k even though we applied last july.  We both just applied for plat last week.

I see that under the Promotion Bonus ID 3882, it is stated that you can get 100,000 Membership Rewards points when you charge $1,000.00 in eligible purchases to your new Card within the first three months of Cardmembership.

The bonus points are credited to the reward account 6-8 weeks after the first $1,000.00 of purchases appear on the monthly billing statement.

I understand that you have now received the new promotion and we would honor the new promotion for you as a good will gesture.

The 50,000 bonus points would be added to your account automatically within 6-8 weeks as you have met the spend threshold. Please contact us at that time and we would have the difference of the bonus points issued to your account as well. We would need to wait for this time frame to satisfy system requirements.

We appreciate your patience and it is an honor to be of assistance to our valued Cardmembers.

I sent my letter to the membership rewards balance dept. and they said that they cannot give me the extra 50k points because the promotion ended before i applied 

anything else i can try? maybe email another department?

on my second gold card i sent like 10 messages until someone finally was willing to give me the points dont give up

I got the gold upgrade today, so I'm going to wait a bit before I try the plat. Spend some nice cash first, show I'm a dedicated customer.

Perhaps try it by phone, that way you can butter up the rep first.

I sent a message to the secure message center, and they replied as to all others, that this offer expired in the end of February, and I applied in March. But, I saw on the attitude of the person that replied that I would have a chance to reply. I replied and told them that since I was already a Amex cardmember back in february, and I made all my purchases on their card, I actually had no reason to apply for the new platinum card, the reason why i applied was because of the opening bonus, and would I know the better promo in time I would definitely grab it, he replied late in the night with positive results that he added the 50,000 points to my account making it 100,000.
Seems that he was in a good mood after yesterdays major news spread a little before his reply.
