A bit off the most recent topic, I was wondering if anyone had a situation like mine: After sending a few SM's I got approved for 100K over the phone. I called 3 times to have them expedite it with no luck. My question is if it is safe to SM about expediting as I am afraid they will see the two previous SM's where I was told that I will not get the bounce?

If you got approved over the phone that means they notated the account which is what they will see.

There is a 100k MR for 5k spend by Oct 10th offer floating around for Business Platinum. That's a lot easier to reach than the 10k spend one.

I know that once I am approved I'm approved and they will not take it away, my question is if I should refrain from SM'ing as it would lead them to the fact that after I was denied twice through SM's, i beat the system and got approved only through the loophole - calling. I don't won't them to A. ignore the nudge's request, or worse yet, B. Flag my account.

I am pretty sure (not 100%) that so long as u open a new sm (don't reply to an old one) they dont/cant read your old sms

no one knows, s.o will have to take the leap of faith and let us know....Im figuring s.o that never had the plat shld go for both and worse comes to worse he only gets 25K for gold if thats still avail. Idk the code to 25K tho. (Oh and perhaps they can get 25K goodwill, ya never know)

Are any of you keeping the Plat card open, paying the annual fee of $450? Should I keep my Plat card active for the year, or should I cancel? I have received the 100K pts., $200 credit, SPG Gold status, etc.

We cancelled my wife's card after getting the 100K points, $200 credit, etc. and was refunded the $450. I now need to decide whether to keep my Plat open. Amex seems to come up with new promos every once in awhile (i.e. 10K pts for Insite) that may add to the value over the coming months.

We both have SPG, Premier, Delta, and Gold Biz cards also -- have never churned the Plat. We are not frequent travelers, but the occasional lounge sounds nice.

After I sent several SM to match 5748 offer, and got no favor response at all, I decided to call membership service.
The representative told me that she added promotion offer on my account and asked me to call back in 6-8 weeks, so they
can apply additional 75K on my account. I have spent 1K already. Have anyone had the similar experience? Should I wait or call again? Thanks!

Calling works so much faster than SM and usually with better results, so it's best just to call

Man... I want to apply for AMEX plat to get the 100k match, but I gotta first apply for the Chase Hyatt with my Diamond match... Ahhh - the 30 days between Chase apps cannot come soon enough!
