Still alive (kind of).

I had called the standard Platinum# a few days ago and the rep said he needs to contact his supervisor and he'll call me back. No one called me and I got impatient so I called MR directly today.

Rep said the code 3882 applied for 'last year' and I applied this year so I don't qualify. She put me on hold to 'research' for 10 minutes and came back with code 5890 which I supposedly do qualify for. As I haven't yet hit the $1000 spending, she said I should call back as soon as I do and the additional 50k will be applied. She noted 5890 on my account.

It's really amazing how everyone's experiences seem to differ so much.

there's another offer id 5748 for the platinum which is 100k and it doesnt expire for another couple months. it worked a couple times but once they said that its connected to taking a cruise or something and therefore not eligible. ymmv.

I sent an SM about the 5890 bonus, and they replied: Since your account was not solicited for this offer, we are unable to honor this promotional offer to you.

5890 Is for Columbia MBA graduates only. Also for some reason im having trouble purchasing amex gift cards over a 100 any ideas?

This is amazing! I sent two emails, one for an extra 50K on the Platinum and one for an extra 25K on the Gold. They gave me an extra 50K for the Platinum but not for the Gold.

I'll follow up on the Gold - but I am so impressed that this worked - thanks!!!

Actually it is the opposite of what I thought... They gave me 50K for the Gold but nothing for the Platinum. Anybody have a working code for Platinum?

I called numerous times today and each time, after looking up 3882, they said that 3882 has been posted on tons of websites and they have been getting tons of calls and in order to get that promo, I need to show them proof that I was invited for that promo.

Membership rewards dept. I didn't have the direct # with me. Called regular cs and they transferred me.

I just called today and got 50K on one card. Then for my wife's card, they at first only gave me 25, but then I called back and got another 50K. Total for the day is 125K
