Honeymoon Advice
« on: December 29, 2016, 01:30:05 AM »
I'm trying to plan a Honeymoon, however I'm getting hampered by a few details. If I could get some input that would be much appreciated!

I need the trip to match the following criteria:

1. Able to be booked within 2 weeks of the trip (meaning somewhat available award availability last minute type)

2. Somewhere bookable with AA mileage or an Amex Xfer partner - Bookable in F ONLY (Etihad or some other crazy first class preferred ::) )

3. Somewhere special obviously  ;D - Places that are currently  on my list (I am open to all suggestions) Bora Bora, Maldives, Thailand

It would be nice if the trip could possibly include, but not a deal breaker:

A. A day or 2 stop in Israel at some point of the trip

TIA!

Start by narrowing down which F class flies to TLV and work from there.

If your planning on going to isreal and somewhere else, chances are you'd have to fly through Jordan FYI

I chuckled when I saw the title of this thread.  I've been married for 22 years, K'N'A.  PM me for advice.  ;)

Seriously, how about flying on Cathay Pacific Hong Kong to TLV (or vice-versa)? Hong Kong is not a typical Honeymoon destination, but I'm sure it would be fun, and from what I hear CX is nice to fly in F. Apparently this route will have the A350.

There's no F on that route.

Almost anywhere that's not the tristate area.

I suppose you could go anywhere. I would imagine that Hawaii, Caribbean, Maldives, Tahiti, Australia, Europe are the prototypical locations. Depends how much time you have, what your resources/funds are, what you like to do, etc.  I mean, if you or your b'shert don't like the beach and don't like the water, it doesn't make much sense to go to a tropical island, IMO.

we do like the beach :)

We have about a week and a half.

Rather not europe, that would leave per your examples - Hawaii, Caribbean, Maldives, Tahiti, Australia.

Hawaii - gorgeous supposedly, though shabbos issues

Caribbean - dont know much about

Maldives - would love to go here, award flights very tough to here, no?

Tahiti - not familiar, will have to research

Australia  - ah if only Qantas had availability in first from lax...

You'd probably want to avoid Zika areas. ( Caribbean etc )

What about Thailand or Bali?

Maldives from tlv isn't to hard to book as long as your ok going through ist.

Tahiti very hard to get to with miles or so I'm told.

What about the Greek Islands?
Crete, Santorini, mykonos etc??

All year or just in the summer?

Assuming you are in the US, and only have a week and a half, I would shoot for Hawaii. For such a short trip, you don't want to waste it on travel time, and jet-lag.

What the shabbos issues with Hawaii? The international dateline shayla?

Or spend second half of week along with Shabbos in California and head over to cover one island for a full week.
