Aeroplan cancellation expiration

I just realized I have a cancellation credit of 77.5K Aeroplan miles that expires today January 1,2017. Aeroplan says I must depart by today or it will be canceled. I don't mind flying today but I need to retun by Thursday and as of now there's no return flight s availble. Anything I can do to extend it? Or anything I can do to wait to book the return? I don't want to lose the 77.5K miles but I don't have a good option here.

Are you sure that you need to fly today and not book by today?

Positive, if not flown by today the reservation is cancelled
