Looking for some guidance here.. When i search for RT flights from NYC-TLV , BA flights with a stop in LHR cost around $1,400. If i manufacture my own connection by booking NYC-LHR and LHR-TLV RTs separately (with all flights on BA metal), the cost is like $400 less. Am i missing something here? Any reason not to do this?

Keep in mind that if you book as two Tix, and they are a short connection, if your flight gets delayed, they don't have to rebook you etc.
