I'm going to add (what may be buried in these over 300 replies) that a couple can decide, by mutual consent,  to delay the  mikvah.  No shaalo needed.
It may not enhance the vacation, but a couple may decide it's worth it for other reasons.
I remember now that when my wife had asked he told her that he will call me 1st to make sure im ok with it and then he told my wife to do the same and vice versa. i guess that makes more sense now on y

Do shluchim in the Caribbean typically use the ocean or do they fly somewhere?

i'd imagine that, if flying is easily enough available, it would avoid some of the bedieved discussed.
(finding a local able to attend also mitigates one of the issues)

On the topic of using the ocean...

I doubt 12 annual overnight trips to Miami are easy on the budget for those shluchim.

  • Programs: 1. Search on google. 2. Search in the right board of DDF with a general word or two. 3. Read the wiki. 4. Read the thread. 5. Ask away.

Why Miami? Maybe another Caribbean location has one? Puerto Rico? Dominican Republic? Venezuela? Or maybe even Panama or Costa Rica?
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

I'd assume MIA is the least expensive option?
Likely depends which island though.

Another thing to consider is that for young childbearing couples, it might not be a 12x/yr issue.

Depending on the age, circumstances a Rav may highly discourage this. There’s a difference between a middle aged couple and newlyweds or even married longer who haven’t been mekayeim pru urevu. Even older couples are likely asking for trouble at the very least with hirhurim assurim especially with a beach destination etc. and she has been assur to him for the better part of a month.

The bottom line is, don't use DDF for Halachic guidance on this. Go to your LOR who is well versed in the 5th part of Shulchan Oruch (in addition to the other pertinent part).

What I think is missing from this discussion is.
What is with issue of going on vacation while not clean?
Isn't that a reason a rav may want you to cancel?
this.

Seems to have the fifth part spelled out in the last paragraph, to the extent that it could be spelled out.
