Having in mind that Aug 2-23 is when all the Yeshivas have summer vacation. All attractions/ places of interest  are overflowing with ppl. It would be best to avoid those dates if possible.

Also, don't leave the Galilee out of your tour, some really nice places there.
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

September is probably ideal given your constraints.

Personally I'd skip the south unless you have more than 2 weeks to burn.
There are better beaches than Eilat and better canyons than Ramon in the US.

A boat cruise or day at the beach works.

Then take a "Jesus boat" sunset cruise on the Kineret.

+1 I'd skip Eilat. Plenty of other places that are worth catching first IMO. Though I'd still have visiting the Negev on my list of maybes.

Sept works. DW is not keen on longer than 10 days.
How about the basics. For airlines the preferred choice? Need lie-flat and I am 6-2.
"LESS IS MORE" It is the cumulative effect that kills deals!!! How many times do I have to say this?  >:(

Air Canada, Delta, or United are $3.3K from ORD-TLV via YYZ, JFK, or EWR. That should be about 165K AMEX Biz Plat points after 50% rebate.
Can't go wrong with any of those.

Doubtful.
But even so, as a couple the current UA config may be the best bet as it's easier to talk to each other. I'd take the bulkhead middle seats so that you get extra legroom and don't have to wake the other in middle of the night to use the bathroom.

My first Israel trip. I had about 8 days so didn't do the south. You can swap out some religious sites  :)

The cash option is on the table.
Catholic and DW loves old churches. Historic yes, nature so so.
I'm sure I'm not saying anything that you don't know already, but there's a historic Christian district in the Old City of Jerusalem that's a popular attraction.

Scuba diving in Eilat or glass bottom boat ride is nice if that's your cup of tea.
Who do you think you are fooling? You think you are going to pull a quick one on your Creator? Good luck with that.
