That brings up another question. Should tourist know where bomb shelters are located?

How are you going to take pictures of all the action in a shelter?

My daughter wants to go to Israel for a family wedding. When my son, who had joined us in the past for a family wedding in Israel heard about it, all he could say was that she will be bored. He said to her: at least when I was there, something interesting was going on (referring to missiles being shot from Gaza and shot down by iron dome - including the famous one of a missile being shot down during the chupa).
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

Disclaimer: I have never been. But tell your wife that there's no time for that. You'll have a second trip to Israel. If you were going for 2 weeks you wouldn't see everything you'd want to see in Israel. And you're only going for one week.

If we like it (Israel) I can see a return visit not being an issue.

It's just traveling is one day, possibly another day for jet lag, Petra would be 2 days likely, and now you have 3 days for Israel, you won't even get out of Jerusalem with that much time...

Can't do Petra and Israel in a week.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

Can't do Petra and Israel in a week.
Keep in mind that not everyone travels like the classic DDFer. While most here won't think of spending more than 2 days (besides shabbos) in Madrid, Rome, Prague.... Ask the average tourist and the standard responses are a week, 10 days, two weeks...
Everyone here says you need weeks to see Israel but for most travelers is it really different than say Portugal or Italy?
Not everyone has a personal connection to Israel and if someone can properly "do" Rome in a day you can do Jerusalem in one also.
