AS giving 10k points to all VX members

I created one, but now they're saying that the promo is only for mileage plan accounts generated through the special link in the email. They can tell mine wasn't created that way cuz my mileage plan number begins with a 1, not a 2.

I'm not sure I'm understanding this promo clearly. Were people with existing VX and AS accounts just gifted 10k AS miles?

Was srap recommending I claim to have received an email stating that I was also gifted the miles for an EXISTING account but they never posted?

The rep was to busy thinking of all the side distractions I was throwing at her she couldn't focus maybe?
Call center is in Seattle
spoke about the weather there
here snow cold etc....
Rep was from NY so that led to 10 mins about the Lower East side...


keep them talking about other things I always find they can't focus on what there supposed to do and not that you push them to do whatever is needed.

That was someone else. 

You can HUCA, tell them you didn't receive the email, tried to make their life easier by creating one just so they can put in the 10k...if they would be so kind.  Since each CSR often knows different info (hence the HUCA approach), the new CSR you get may not feel you have to delete your newly made account to get the 10k.  If she refuses, then you can always delete it.

I do same, but research shows that it is because you break the barrier and they treat you differently then.  It becomes more personal at that point because you take an interest in him/her as a person.

Definitely take the points, they're worth more than $100 even if you just sell them.

Stupid question probably: When I sign up for mileage accounts with airlines, am I supposed to add all my other airlines membership numbers and then go back to my existing memberships and add the new membership I just got? If yes, why? For example, I just signed up for Alaska - should I be putting in my Virgin America account info and then go to Virgin America and do the same?
