I really like that idea. Pretty much sums up my love for DD vs every other site.

Not at all, but it is about having a גמרא קאפ! 

But as I wrote above, I don't think it's about flipping pages, it's about revealing the back-end inside intricacies, extra details behind the deal as it appears prima facie.

The whole thing would look something like this:



(The idea behind the icon and slogan is that there are 2 D's on top of each other and the top D is being page turned to reveal the bottom D, Just like Dan reveals Deals)

As a whole the logo and color look great. (together with the slogan and dd)

Yeah, I was playing around with the paper airplane idea, but I am not in the mood of geometric calculations right now so I did not perfect it...

I think the page flipping style/idea should be used when redirecting to a 3rd party website.. while connecting pages you should see the logo peeling off... I think that would look cool

I like the page turn concept, but the straight edge on the left is boring, how about something like this (crudely done in Paint).

I also liked that logo (deals revealed) but it seems the designer did not follow the recommendations & guidelines that Dan wrote.

Brands need to be futureproof & work across all mediums, Gradients are out, and the logo would probably not look as good as a single color.

Most new brands (especially web-only brands) try to future proof their branding so there would be no need to redesign every few years (like Pepsi, Instagram, google, microsoft etc)

the logo that everyone likes has three colors, plus a background.
Supposedly Dan wants a 1 color only logo.
In case we go back to black and white screens. Like this it will be future-proof.
