I agree with you guys about a Design Contest, I think it's a great idea (I would obviously be excluded from it)

Just some ideas I sketched last week:

I actually like that one, change it a little more and it could be a good option, the colors are great.

I'm living in CH now but before Tishrei I was in London and worked with him on a project.

I think many who were around on the forums when you got married figured out who you were as your wedding wasn't a secret in real life and I seem to recall it was a topic on DDF as well although I'm a few years younger than you.

First of all I am very excited for the new website!  can't wait for it to come, this logo is the exact same idea of PayPal, I liked the most the first of row 2, the third of row 2 is also good but I still think the the first is more attractive.
Another point, it's very hard to make a pick just by seeing the logo without everything around it, sometimes a not so nice one can look better to a certain webpage design

a logo should always be able to work in monotone.

 The PayPal one is nice but your giving up the option of monotone printing - lets say you want to print it on a cover letter or Hat etc.
would never look good in 1 color.

So, I'm not a graphic artist, but inspired by the Chargers, I made this mock up. Let me know what you think - I'll wave the fee.

I didn't immediately think of any other company when I saw it (good for bookmarks and browser tabs etc...)

It would work well as the first letter of the full name version of the logo (that would be used everywhere else)
Unlike most of the other ones.

Still needs polishing though.

Should be "DANS" not Double Ds. For three reasons:
1. Uniqueness of the site is Dan rather than deals. Deal sites abound.
2. You have more opportunity to style the logo using other letters
3. Alternate meanings of the phrase.
