Does anyone like either of these more than the 2 in the poll?

I like the page turn concept, but the straight edge on the left is boring, how about something like this (crudely done in Paint).

Interesting, just doesn't look much like a D anymore.

Personally I think the "owl eyes" is better, though it should probably be adjusted a little, maybe make the circles a bit smaller and the sticks a bit longer?
But you seem to have moved away from that so I guess it's irrelevant...

Most of this is based on feedback in this thread. People went crazy how good the deals revealed one was and many people hated the owl eyes.

To me the deals revealed just looked like a D with a weird shape on it until someone mentioned peeling back. (and I don't really see the owl eyes.)

I dont think you are in the minority. Maybe the minority on DDF.
I think most people liked it because it came along with a whole presentation and meaning. Im curious as to what a DDMS poll would look like. I venture to say not the same.

Nah I agree with you. It was definitely different but IMHO nothing has jumped out as being awesome. I think  you get what you pay for. If you want a great logo you're going to have to put down money for it. Those big corp brand logos didn't come cheap so I'm not sure why anyone expects to be blown away with any logo done for a bottle of scotch.
