cash from israel to states

One of our esteemed ddf members has US cash that belongs to me in israel. I need a way to get that money to the states. If someone is coming to NY and wants to take it, or more preferably if someone needs us cash in israel and will write me a check and send it here (instead of cashing a check there and paying a fee). It's about $2,500.
