El Al award ticket redemption sale through March 31
« on: January 16, 2017, 09:49:54 AM »
I didn't see this posted anywhere (neither forum nor front page) and I'm pretty surprised, because it's not a new sale and there are some excellent redemption opportunities.  Most long-haul destinations must be flown by March 21 and short-haul by March 31.

El Al has its "Fly Time" award ticket sale going on, details can be found here: https://www.elal.com/en/Deals/Offers/FrequentFlyerDeals/Pages/FLYtime-Economy-190916.aspx

Some of the more notable redemption sweet spots (all points/prices for round trip, one way can be booked for exactly half):

***The below is for holders of the Israeli Fly Card (and I'm assuming Executive Circle members in the US)***
Economy

Boston: 900 points + ~$350 surcharges, or 1200 points + ~$100 surcharges
(900 El Al points = only 45,000 MR points)

Toronto: 950 points + ~$325 surcharges, or 1250 points +~$100 surcharges
(950 El Al points = 47,500 MR points)

New York: 1100 points + ~$350 surcharges, or 1400 points +~100 surcharges
(1100 El Al points = 55,000 MR points)

Business - don't forget that El Al has a real business cabin on European flights + King David Lounge in TLV that was completely renovated a few months ago.

Toronto: 3200 points + ~$325
Boston: 3500 points +~$350
Athens: 700 points + ~$100 ($700-800 if bought with cash)
Vienna: 800 points + ~$189 ($1100+ if bought with cash)
Frankfurt: 990 points + ~$150 or so
