I never do, but when they notched up their chutzpah is another story.
How about the publishers of the magazines? How much do they make between advertising and sales?

The entire print industry is struggling all over the world. The groceries don't care if the newspapers go up with the price, they just want to charge more as a result.

And besides the point, the heimishe print industry employs hundreds and hundreds of heimishe employees, while the groceries mostly only hire illegal Mexicans.

The most interesting thing in most of these publications is the crying demand for better English education in the heimish community.

I have zero sympathy for the grocers.

They were used to ripping off the customers by putting on exorbitant markups (the manufacturers and distributors aren't innocent) and getting away with it because every store went along. So they aren't making a lot of money on the newspapers and magazines. Cry me a river. The biggest chutzpah is that some on that list are huge groceries who literally make millions.

It's highly debatable if most grocers in BP are making even close millions.

The small ones are not. Many are still desperately trying to get customers to pay up those large account balances that they owe. And one of those big names on the list has been losing money.

You don't need to go that far. He is in their industry.

The original article sounded to me like an advertisement for Bingo. Also, do all his articles need an editor so badly?

Why do I get a feeling that Bingo is behind this especially the YWN article?

Non-profits are exempted from the Do not call registry.
Right, so G&G (just one example) is a non-profit....  ::)

(I guess they really are. Look at their tax filings at the end of every fiscal year.  :-X)

Again, so they found a creative solution to how to be above the law. I haven't had this with any telemarketing from outside the community, although they could've been just as creative.

+1000
How about the local groceries on your corner who have to deal with hundreds of thousands of dollars in unpaid accounts (even from those who DO eventually pay), while they have to pay their suppliers regularly. And there's barely enough room in the grocery for the basics, but they need to give a huge space for the 30 different magazines out there at nearly no profit. I'm sure the case wasn't started by KRM or any of the big supermarkets. No reason to bash your local grocer whose simply trying to make a living.

With the amount of money they make from ads in the magazines, they should pay to be shelved in a grocery.
Who says without selling the papers they'll make a profit? And if they do, who says there is something wrong with making even more?
