Author Topic: Justfly/Elal Cancellation Fee (Read 4683 times)

I booked a family trip for Pesach 5 tkts + infant flying with Elal 4/5 JFK-ZRH ZRH-TLV ( 1h 55m layover in Zurich) and return 4/18 direct flight to Newark. I booked it through justfly.com
The first leg is operated by AA and second leg is operated by Swiss.

now I realized that my return is on second day Yom Tov and need to push off the return with a week. Called Justfly and they don't have anything available to change the flight. But I did see new reservations available on Kayak. So asked the price for cancelling the tickets and they said Elal charges $250/tkt + they charge $150 for the service. Total $1400 !!

Is there a way around? Maybe if I call elal directly to change my ticket or any suggestions?

Thanks! I just called Elal and they said that they can't touch my ticket before travel. I will have to go to my travel agent which sucks! I can only call them when I am in TLV to change the return flight but won't risk it till then.

I searched on Kayak and they sent me to Justfly for the cheapest prices. Is there a way (except for a doctors letter) to change or cancel with a lower or no fee?

I have 988,000 Chase ultimate reward points. Maybe I can book something cheap with those points?

They keep around $5 on each ticket. They will charge you $15 to book seats that are free....

Thanks. So I guess this mistake costs me $1400! I will have to cancel this reservations and rebook new tickets. I guess will try a travel agent this time.

Try buying travel insurance...

HUCA ElAl and Justfly before you do anything.
Ask the TA about booking a refundable fare so that if ElAl helps you after you land, you wont need them.
