The business recon guy completely freaked out today when he first saw how many Chase cards I had and was saying how it looked like I was going on a credit run as I had opened 3 Chase cards in the last 3 months and 6 this year, but after a nice long conversation he moved over 5K from my CO PP and approved the Ink Classic!

It is nice to have 100K in lines to play with.

I just got told the same thing (and they mentioned all the cards I opened with other issuers) :(

This guy didn't ask you about all the other cards you opened recently (with other issuers)?

He mentioned it in passing, but was much more concerned about my Chase portfolio.

@Asher Why not the Amex Gold - Business (75k)

I am about to do a double app - Gold consumer and Gold Business thinking that those are the two next best cards to go for (have amex plat - my only amex card).

I feel like I am missing something.

p.s. Other card opened this year - citi AA. Also, have 2 other cards open for years already. (citi and whtvr the has advantage card is).
i think you have to be targeted for this offer.

You're responding to a post from June, when matching to non-targeted Amex offers was easier.

Why no chase??

I'm unofficially blacklisted by them.

10 active chase cards :D

Looks like I'm the winner for Citi with 11 active cards  ;D

Chase is stricter these days IMHO, I may be wrong though.

Oh, I see what you mean. But Citi doesn't have the great recon department that Chase does, and that recon department makes it much easier for pushing through new approvals. I've had my fair share of denials with Citi.

Citi has recon too. Either way, they are different animals (every issuer is different in this regard, IMHO).
