Israeli citizenship
« on: February 06, 2017, 05:20:34 PM »
A relative of mine was born in Israel and lives in the states, they want to travel to Israel but are scared of being stopped and forced to mmake Israeli citizenship, so before they travel they want to  renounce citizenship, but here is the catch they aren't sure if they are in the system as most of the family has renounced theirs years ago, but something went wrong by theirs, if not then they certainly don't want to give it to the Israelis on a silver platter to stop them.
So is there a way to check if they are in the system ?

a) I don't believe they just give out the information as to who is a citizen etc.
b) in case they are not don't want to raise any red flags,
I'm sure there are some askonim etc that can check something like this, just don't know who and how to get hold of them

go to the consulate and ask. If he was born in Israel then he is most likely in the system. His marriage/kids if born outside are probably unknown to the system.
