They never give reasons for these things but it could be they didn't want to keep giving 250k UR to people each year.

If they wanted to get rid of it they would have, I don't think they want to, I think they added it as another good option for many people for everyday spending.

Why take away the ability to apply in bank? Is that common?

I'm not sure why they did that, it could be to keep the number of cards to a minimum, most people aren't DDFer's you know

They've been promoting it like crazy, I've seen an inordinate number of mailers for it (none to me, I guess I have too many chase cards already

Don't know why, but I happen to take a sibling of mine to get his first credit card in the branch, and while there I said why not apply for the chase unlimited, so I went ahead and applied and never heard back from them till today.(meaning don't think I will.) is it normal not to receive any mail or notice about being declined?
Wonder if I can still call for recon now a few mnths later or the application is closed?

Nope never received one. (It was suppose to say, even till today I have not received anything from them.)

Freedom/united/ba(closed in the summer)/amazon(doubt that's counted)/Personal gold amex..
And some store cards like amazon/ebay/paypal/priceline....
And an AU on a ink business(on 2 different business ink cards I'm a AU) /saffire/freedom/ ..... but with leaving the AU on the side I don't think I'm over 5/24... I would have to have some time to kill to bypass the AU I'm on.

Amazon probably does count and you'll have a hard time getting them to not count all those store cards, can't hurt to try though. If you are, go for the CSR while it still has 100k in-branch.
