If you can afford the credit hit (for whatever bonus they're offering at the time) and will get approved, that makes sense.

As far keeping points active though, I'm sure most people will be transferring all their points to CO come 09/30.

I'm not sure that their value will plummet, but it will likely do down unless DL continues to offer 50% bonuses.
Diners doesn't transfer to CO and SPG to CO at 2:1 is so poor that I wouldn't even consider that an option.

I am not sure about CO, it will definitely depend on account size since there will be no more topping off accounts easily with amex (sapphire accounts are much harder to come by), any smaller accounts or weird denominations will lose some value...

For those that want to use points to fly to eretz Israel,I don't if it's so smart to transfer all your points to co, as the points needed will go up to 80k, while there still is the option to transfer to ana and you only need 60k to fly to Israel

only the spg has a limited of 1k bec the others have no preset limit
