40%?! That's very impressive.
I mean, cars at 3 yrs. old are holding at 45% off their original value...
Exactly why it's worth negotiating for a new car.

Absolutely! Never knew its possible to negotiate such deep discounts. Can you make a post about it?
I didn't notice the pickup being that bad.  There is also a V6 version, but you sacrifice some gas mileage and it costs a good few thousand more.
To solve that problem you can get the Camry, although the Sonata would be even better in that regard, but then again you have your passenger seat issue.

I have posted about it before.

Sonata is out because of passenger seat.  Otherwise I liked it a lot.
Camry is out as they're releasing the '12 redesign later this year and the problem-plagued '07-'11 Camrys will plummet in value.  And I'm not keen about buying a car in the first year of a redesign either before people have had a chance to test it out.

i personally would not buy a car with a v4 engine. the difference is too noticeable to someone used to driving a v6

I guess I need to go back and compare a v4 to the v6.
I never bought a car before for myself...I just didn't think it would be worth paying $3K extra for, lose 2 MPG, and have rougher handling with the V6 as well.

The V6 will get you there faster when you're gunning for the airport. :P

Totally depends on what type of driver you are. And maybe a little bit on where you live.

In NYC you need that extra oomph just to not get cut-off/run over.
In CLE things are a bit more relaxed...

The other issue is that once you do into V6 with leather you're starting to bump into Infiniti prices...the value prop of the Altima starts to fade away.

I would recommend you to try out the v6. Can't compare it to v4

Have you looked into the new Ford Taurus?

My parents always drove GMs and Fords growing up and they always had so many problems...

$27,165+ before negotiations.
I'm estimating $21-$22K+ after negotiations.

I take it you're talking loaded up with options, otherwise it seems like the base model can be had for much less...
