1- yes. in vilnius there is chabad, plus a bagel shop (weird hours) with the chabad hechsher. in kaunas there is the jewish club run by rabbi moshe sheinfeld, its open during semesters, so find out before.
2- never been there for shabbos, but im sure the local chabad would help u with that.
3- great tour guide name is niki, speaks a good hebrew, passable english. 0037061659464
4- vilna has tons of stuff, kaunas has its share too. depending on youre type u can spend weeks touring random shuls, cemeteries, and archives in lithuania

for belarus' land border crossing, usa citizens need a visa
also, its not very far, but crossing the border itself can take up the better part of a day

Be aware that they have a monument in a place that they call the Gaon's grave - but it is not where the kever is today; it has been moved.

+1 you're probably better off flying, that's what I did. Also Iirc you need some type of health insurance if traveling to Belarus.

There's a guy in Brooklyn that does it for $275 I believe. You can get a visa upon arrival in the airport for about $200.

Kaunas/slabodka is not too far. If youre going to the Chofetz Chaims kever in Belarus you should go to Mir too, there's a bais kevuros there.

There's a synagogue in Daugavpils/Deneburg/Dvinsk (as well as the kevorim of the Ohr Sameach and Rogotchover)

the cemetery is a section in the gentile cemetery, it was quite an effort to find
