Unlike *some* people, Chase apparently learned from its mistakes :P

I already have the Visa and I just applied for the MC. I'm assuming I was denied. Preferably I'd like to transfer credit from a different card rather than closing my Visa, as my 7% bonus on the Visa will be pretty significant. Has anyone been able to do that? I don't mean do that accidentally where a CSR screwed up, I mean actually had their request granted by recon.

I have a different question. I used Dan's link and got the SPMC. After a few rounds with Chase by SM, I got them to match me to 50k UR for the 3k spend. Now that I have gotten the bonus, how would you recommend I go about proceeding so that I can get the SP Visa and the bonus? Dan's formula seems to start with the Visa and involve getting the MC. I'm coming at it from a different angle. Thanks!

Apply for the Visa
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

Apply for the Visa

SP Visa AF showed up on my statement . Called CSR To convert to MC and no soft, hard, inquiry of any sort because she said I was preapproved for the card already .

CSR thought fee would be waived but asked someone  and came back with a no.

Should I wait for the  new MC , and try to get a retention bonus ?
Or just activate and add SP Visa to my next APPO in Nov

$95 not the end of the world for 50K UR  Dan you expect a 50k by then ?

Why not apply for a diff card now? Or move over the credit line and  cancel the SP visa and reapply?

I already requested the MC  sapphire. CL goes to that one now . I can reapply for  the Sapp pref Visa but just did a 6 card APPO 30 days ago so I should wait another 60 days for pulls to drop off

Why not close it and transfer the CL to another card and just re-app in Nov?

To me I'd rather close the SP and just re-app and not have to fight/explain to recon why I need a Visa and a MC SP

But I thought Dan suggested somewhere that the conversion method was the best way to go .

At least that's what my notes on Sapphire preferred say ?  CMIIW

The question becomes can I call retention for a $95 Credit towards annual fee on either the old
Visa account or the new MC.

CSR said any recurring bills that I may have overlooked will be paid and old cc numbers are still
good for 60 days

Waiting 60+ days is a good idea, but pulls drop of your credit report after 2 years...

What about if I cancelled my SP Visa and UPME Visa and want to re-apply for them. Should I wait 60 days? Or can I just go for it
