What about if I cancelled my SP Visa and UPME Visa and want to re-apply for them. Should I wait 60 days? Or can I just go for it

I've applied within a couple hours after cancelling and got approved.

I thought they droo off incrementally every 3 6 12 & 24
So I time my appos 3 mos and a few days depending on what's available

The pulls drop off your report every 24 months, but the banks really look closely at inquiries from the past 6 months!

I just got hit with 95 AFf for sapphire. am i better off closing and xfering CL to another card(would they do it even if the total would be 30k on 1 card?), or is it better to downgrade to the non preferred no AF version.

Downgrade now and you can close the card later on when applying for a new card and transferring the credit line.

You should try for a retention bonus...

Get anything more than 5k UR out of them, and you covered your AF.

I obtained the SP Visa last March in a 3BM. I just did a 3BM this month which included the SP MC. I received a letter stating that I was not approved for the SP MC because I already had the SP. The letter asked me to call to discuss my credit.

So, I called the reconsideration department and had an easy time telling the agent about the benefits of having both the Visa and the MC and moved some credit over to get the new card open.

looking at my credit report today, I see that this call in triggered another Experian Inquiry listed from FIRST USA,NA having the same phone number as the Chase inquiry the week before.

Oh well, at least it got approved, but I was hoping for a single inquiry not two.

If they didn't ask you to pull your credit again you COULD try to get it off your report.

I applied for a Sapphire MC after I had the sapphire Visa. They told me that I cannot get a bonus awards for opening the MC as I got it for the Visa already. Anybody else have this experience?

Don't believe everything reps tell you.  I just got my MC bonus a couple of weeks ago after having the Visa bonus in the past.

WHEN did you cancel the Visa?? How much time passed before you applied for the MC (and got the bonus again)?

I applied for the MC while I had the Visa open.  Application denied because I already had a SP open.  Called recon, closed the Visa to open the MC.  Got the bonus after my statement closed in the month I reached the spending threshold (~2 months).

That's why I converted my SP VISA to MC. and will apply for Visa next appo! That's the
most recommended  way to go prior to this info.
