i closed my sapphire card 5 months ago, would like to apply now again will i get the sign up bonus?
and whats the best sign up bonus now around?

Has anyone ever been matched to a better offer over the phone? I know, I'm so old fashioned who even uses that outdated technology any more.

Where is the link for the MC? On this page http://forums.dansdeals.com/index.php?topic=8028.0 the visa leads to an application, but the mc leads to a "browse for cards" page.

recently downgraded my sapphie prfrd to reg sapphire how long before i try to reapply for prfrd with bonus and does it make a difference if i try for dif type i.e. visa wmc, than first one??

I've had an SP visa for nearly a year. The fee is coming before the 7% bonus.

a) I don't want to pay the fee
b) I want the 7% bonus
c) I want the SP sign up bonus again (40k).

What would experienced DDFers recommend be my plan of action to ensure meeting all 3 objectives?

If I convert my Visa now to WMC and reapply for Visa, then convert the WMC to a non-preferred SP to avoid the fee, would I still get the 7% on that original account?

Any help appreciated, thanks!

There's a way to try for all three, but you have to get really lucky twice...

Try to get a retention bonus of 5k or more to mitigate the annual fee. Then, try to get another SP without closing this one (will be harder to do now that there's no WMC linky).

In any case, it'll take some pretty neat acrobatics to get another SP while keeping this one, and get the signup bonus to post beofre 12/31/2012 (so you earn the signup bonus on those 40k as well).
