that's a benefit that the ink has over the sp, he wanted to know vice versa.

If I cancel my cards, but then reapply under my wife's name, can I get the bonus again?

Will I still be able to transfer my Freedom UR to my wife's new Ink or SP UR account?

You can cancel, reapply under you own name, and get the points again.

I personally close it and transfer the CL to another card then reapply. Others downgrade or convert to MC and use other card as leverage to get a new app pushed through. To each their own...

I do the same.  It works fine for me.  I keep one free card open with each bank (Citi, Amex, Chase) in order to "dump" my credit on that card when I close a card that has an annual fee.

I once applied for a new SP BEFORE I switched my existing SP to a MC. I was still able to switch to an MC and get approved for the new SP Visa.

I do the same.  It works fine for me.  I keep one free card open with each bank (Citi, Amex, Chase) in order to "dump" my credit on that card when I close a card that has an annual fee.

My free Chase card is the Freedom. Use it for dumping both my CL and UR points.
