If you are not doing anything that would warrant them to possibly close you down, you shouldn't have to worry.

I thought some were reporting no funny stuff and they were still closed down.
Only on DDF does 24/6 mean 24/5/half/half

May need to take some posts with a grain of salt. If you are doing everything by the book, it should not be too hard to get the points back. May be a little bit of a pain, but...

question is what is by the book mean to you? churning not by the book?

Churning i don't see as an issue. Ultimately they are controlling if they approve you for additional cards.

Transferring to other people, selling points... That can cause issues.

From SM Inbox:

Quote
Thank you for your interest in the Chase Sapphire
Preferred bonus points offer.

The 50,000 bonus points offer was for accounts with an
annual fee of $125. Upon review, I see that your account
has an annual fee of $95. We are unable to apply the
50,000 bonus points offer to your account.  Although we
appreciate your loyalty, we feel that adhering to the
same policy for all members is the best way to remain fair
and consistent.

As a valuable Chase Sapphire customer,
we will be pleased to add the 5,000 bonus points offer for
adding the first authorized user to your account. You will
see this adjustment on the next statement. This adjustment
is available for redemption now.

Couple questions:

1) Signed up for Chase Preferred about 2 3/4 years ago, canceled it 3/4 year ago, signed up again and got approved. Will I have any issues getting the 55K?
2) Also applied for 2 Chase Ink cards - it seems people recently have had Chase tell them that they can only get 2 cards in 30 days. Any easy way around this? Is HUCA the usual way to go here?

Shouldn't have any issues but wait until the regular bonus posts before asking for a match.
HUCA is always the way to go.

I called to be matched. Rep knew what the 50k offer was and the $125 fee and the 5k for AU, but said she would have to send the info to the marketing (?) team and they would mail me a response in 7-10 days.

UPDATE: Called back yesterday, rep said they have been very uncertain about the rules for the new SP offer, but things have become clearer now. She said b/c it's a new AF, marketing team shmarketing team, it's like a new card and no one with the lower AF can be matched to the 55K offer, but they can match to the 5000 for the AU offer. And yes, my SP was opened within the past 90 days.

For me, i am not changing any URL. I am just going to chase.com -> Product and Services -> Credit Card -> All Credit Cards. third one is Chase Sapphire preferrred and it says 55K offer right there. I am not changing anything.

I take it back now. Now it is not appearing. they have fixed it. now you can still can get it with replacing last "1" with "4". but few minutes before, it was a live link on website.

+1 John! Live link again, I followed your steps to a 50+5K/$125AF offer without hacking URL.

If it's a new card we might be able to have both cards at once.

What do you guys think?

1st they responded
"I have received your inquiry about the new offer on Chase
Sapphire Preferred card.

The account is currently under review regarding the 50,000
first use offer. You should receive a response within one
business day.

Regretfully, we will be unable to match the 5,000 points
offer for adding an authorized user, as this offer is only
available for applications made on or after 11/18/2013."

Then
"Thank you for contacting us about adding an Authorized
User to your account. We'll be pleased to assist you with
this request.

You are a valuable Chase Sapphire customer for us and we
will be pleased to apply the 5,000 bonus points offer
after adding the first authorized user to your account.
Please respond with the name of the person you would like
to add on the account as Authorized user and we will be
happy to apply the 5000 points to the account.

Once we hear from you, we'll process the information and
you should receive a new card at your mailing address
within five business days."
I am sometimes accused of overthinking things. I am still mulling over whether that accusation has merit.
