Just got approved, I have a Sapphire non preferred open. Application for the Freedom is pending.
Its churnable but just to comment the fee for this application is $125 for the second year (instead of 95)

Did you make an additional user? and if yes do you get 5k for it like by the other application?

I got a response from chase regarding matching the offer:

"We are unable to apply the 50,000 bonus points offer to
your account. This offer was for accounts with an annual
fee of $125. Upon review, I see that your account has an
annual fee of $95.

Although we appreciate your loyalty, we ask that you trust
that this decision is the same for all members. We feel
that adhering to the same policy for all members is the
best way to remain fair and consistent."

I responded please apply the new $125 annual fee to my account. Do you guys think I'll get it?

They aren't giving it. Not a single report of success.

chase is being stubborn with this. I hope is an anomaly not new policy.

IMHO it is best to just let this one go.
Only on DDF does 24/6 mean 24/5/half/half

Why, do you envision negative consequences from the effort?
I remember when a coke was a nickel, and you could buy VRs in OD.

I see no need to keep bugging them about this. You all have a good thing going with Chase.

I just got off the phone with a CSR, and tried the following tactics (already got matched the 5k AU- got the points this morning):

1) Straight up match- didn't work, as all others have reported.
2) Asking to switch to the $125 AF card (as two others have said they asked via SM)- she said that wasn't an option that was showing for her, and that you can't switch products.
3) I asked if I could then apply separately for the $125 card (and have it in addition to the $95 AF card), since she said it's viewed as a different product. She responded that I could apply for it, but that I wouldn't get the points since I have the $95 card.

So...it seems like it both is and is not the same as the existing card.

I believe that if you apply and get approved, you should be able to get the points. Chase is not like Amex with a one year wait period. Someone CMIIW...

Yes I was wondering the same if it is a different product so you should be able to get both.

As far as points, if you get approved you definitely get the points.

I believe with Chase, you can have multiples of the same product and get the points on each.

You are right but my question is if you could have both at once (95$ 125$).
