No such thing as pre-approved.
So what are those things that come in the mail that say pre approved?

IIRC they can say preapproved if they approve a certain percent of the people they say it to.

On that topic, is there a way to get rid of all the "platinum" unnamed credit card offers I seem to get? The ones that imprint my name on a fake card? Not the end of the world but they can get to by annoying.

Yes, there is a number to call to stop getting credit offers. its the credit agencies.

The problem is I don't get the good offers (think the targeted Amex and Chase offers) and only get this junk!

I want to open Chase Sapphire credit card, and want to know if it is worth to spend $95 for the preferred card. If I end up selling my points will the "1:1 Point Transfer to Participating Partners with No Transfer Fees" get me more money for my points?

some reported getting shut after getting approved for new chase cards (maybe they realized they gave him too much credit) is it not good timing now to try chase for additional new cards?

This most likely has to do with other reason. Search for the A/A thread and you can read up much more on this.
IMO I wouldn't say it's a bad time to sign up for chase.

DW received a pre-approvalqualification for the 40k+5k offer. Don't need the 10k extra for $125 AF since we max out the 5x category on Ink.

She has excellent credit. No INQs and high lines (>20K). Zero balances reporting. Applied for her and received pending message. Automated status says 2 weeks. What's up with that? She won't call because she doesn't understand how this works. :) They double pulled her (EX & TU in CA).

Very strange, since I app'ed a couple of months ago (my scores are lower by 20-30 points) and got instant approval. I had 4 INQ (all business related) and they pulled EX & EQ for me.

I presume the 2 week message is manual verification?

Just to update my own thing for those who Google. :)

Chase verification department called DW and asked her if she really applied for CSP. Then they asked a bunch of questions about existing cards for "verification". Then they asked to fax her drivers license for proof of address and date of birth.

I called the automated status line as they were on the call, and it switched to the 7-10 day message (from the 2 week message). Will fax the stuff and see what happens. It sounded like they just wanted the license and it would be approved, so I'm not sure if 7-10 means denied in this case, but I guess we'll see.

If I call the automated status line from her phone, it now asks for "last 4 digits of your card" instead of "the full 16 digits of your card", so that may or may not be a clue.

It's said to be 2 separate pulls
