If you downgrade to regular Sapphire and reapply for the SP the same day, they see you already have the SP and decline you. I don't get it because clearly ppl upthread have said they didn't even downgrade before reapplying, but 2 reps so far have told me that.
3rd HUCA told me that even regular sapphire is like the SP and you can't have both (again, ppl upthread proved that wrong). He said, pay off the balance today, and call back tomorrow and we can close the current sapphire and open the new one.

Having two SPs at the same time is an exception, not the rule.

Downgrading an SP hours before applying for SP was foolish because I imagine that their systems didn't even have time to process the downgrade in that time. So you may be stuck.

Though perhaps giving it a few days, it may work.

One can definitely have a Sapphire and SP at same time.

Thanks. I got antsy and went for it. Hopefully it'll go down to Sapphire soon and when I call back they'll either approve the SP outright or close the Sapphire and approve the SP. SP was opened in July, so it's not like it's helping my age of accounts all that much.

Thank you!
Around what is the going value for 50,000 UR points please?
Cash back gives you a penny per point. Broker will give you 1.4

My SP downgraded to S and I had paid off the balance expecting to close it, but they opened the new SP w/o closing the S. Woohoo!

So no other fees that are applicable due to being in Israel?  I get points as well, 2x at restaurants and travel?

I get 2x the points at all merchants. Including uni cafeteria , cafes , nespresso coffee shop, pubs, all public transit. Exchange ratio exact to the penny.

I applied for the SP. They approved it but said I must send in tax documents. Already got the card. How long do they give to send it in before they start making problems ?

If I wanted to sell UR points that I have on my Sapphire Preferred are there any risks of getting flagged?  How does a sale of points generally proceed?

Wow impressive, thanks.  What is the going rate, 3.48/dollar?  How does chase calculate that?  (not sure if that is within the scope of this thread but figured I throw it in  ;D )

Discussion is frowned upon as well.
Selling points from any currency is a risk of being shutdown. Chase allows transfers to spouses and that's it (as per the friendly pop-up reminder when you transfer UR), so I would imagine that selling UR is especially a big risk to getting shut down.

For more information, contact a points buyer like the one that advertises on DDMS.

Do many ppl on DDF sell their points to brokers since they are more valuable than redeeming directly through chase?

They are very valuable, just transfer them to the available airlines or hotels.

I have a quick question with regards to my Chase Saphire.

The AF just posted on my statement and of course I don't want to pay for it. I have an Ink Bold so being able to transfer my points to good airlines etc... isn't an problem. At this point, I am not interested in applying for a 3BM and being approved by shifting my credit line of the SP. It seems to be that the best option is to downgrade to the Chase Freedom.

What do you guys think? What is the best way to avoid paying the fee without closing the card?

You answered your question yourself. "the best option is to downgrade to the Chase Freedom."

Seems like a good option or you can downgrade to the non-preferred version.

That one also has no fee, correct?
