Have they officially changed anything or just changing it on the fly?
It's true what they said around June time they started a new policy that they are strict on that if you have more then 4-5 cards (from any bank not necessarily chase cards) you will not be approved its officially bec they are cracking down with ppl opening and closing down accounts just for the signup bonus so basically if you have more then that amount of cards you will prob not get approved

I have a friend who has a Sapphire preferred and his wife is an AU.  They are looking to open a Sapphire in her name.  Should she be removed as an AU first, or does it not matter in terms of trying to get an instant approval?  Yeah I've been around here for a few years but never had to deal with AUs since my wife has been uninterested in any this (until she recently got some targeted offers in the mail...).

You can try and get a retention offer for the card.

If you want to transfer, click on your point balance and when in the ultimate rewards area, click on transfer to travel partners.

Transfer the UR to 1 of those cards before closing it. You wont be able to transfer from the freedom to United. You could call or SM for retention.
