And that's only with the chase cards like the ink and freedom but for example the united, SW and all the other cards that's not chase points those you can sign up to
Can anyone else confirm this?
This would be great as i'm hyperventilating about no longer being able to get SW CP.....

It's not that i don't believe you, it's that this is an important data point, so i wanted to see if this was a widespread phenomenon, Personally i got denied on a Sapphire and i called 10s of times to no avail so it makes sense.

data point: i was able to get approved by shifting credit from another chase cc. first rep wouldnt even let me talk so i hung up, second rep was a little more accomodating but still no dice. third rep originally said that there was nothing he can do but i was able to have him take a closer look after i pointed out that i was removed as an authorized user from a few accounts (about 24 hours before i applied). that put me at 4 cards in 24 months not including the 5 in the AOR that i did in part with the CSP.

All right. I have to say I am confused after reading over 2 hours here.

Here's my case -- Within 24 months, I have opened Chase Sapphire, Ink, Ink Plus, and United Explorer. I also have opened other AA cards.

And I read here that Chase would no longer approve any applications if applicant had 5 cards in 24 months --  http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/chase-ultimate-rewards/1707643-applying-chase-credit-cards-may-2015-present.html

So here's my question:

1) Unless there are tricks that you can share here that I am not aware, it seems like my chance of getting another Chase Sapphire 40K is low? Even if I waited over 24 months since my last receive of UR points. I have cancelled most of these Chase related cards whenever the 1st year is up with annual fees.

If I have to keep calling after the application below, what would I be asked?

http://www.creditcards.com/airline-miles.php?aid=5374b92c&bid=299b6a3ded78f630

2) If I applied now and eventually get denied, would that reset my 24 months clock towards the "24 months / 5 cards", or the "24 months after last receive of UR"?
If either clock would get reset, I might as well play safe and don't churn till the 24 months is up.

Thanks guys!
Sean

Yes Einstein, I saw those data points, so that was how I am "surprised".

Were there any tricks here on this board? I read Flytalk frequently, and it seems like it's more than likely to get rejected.

Thanks again
Sean

FYI I've never yet cancelled a card with Chase. I dunno if that helped me get approved, but hey, you never know.

Ydad,

so whenever the annual fees is up, you move the credit line to Freedom card, or do you just keep paying the annual fees?

I mean, right now I have Ink Plus, United Explorer and Sapphire. Do I call to have them "cancelled" and all credit line rolled into Freedom? Then a couple months later, apply new Ink Plus, Sapphire and get bonus?

Thanks
Sean

You can call up and ask to move the CL over to the other card. rinse and repeat with the signing up.

Thanks Marco.

So by moving the Credit Line (say Ink Plus) over to the non-annual fee Freedom card, the Ink Plus card would Close/Cancelled, correct?

Thanks
Sean

Yes, that is the logic. However, i do not think you can move from the Ink (business) to the Freedom (personal), though you can try.

I've had business cards approved when taking CL from personal.
