same here. recon said they'd approve a card only if i closed the other one. analyst cleared it through.

i got approved for the co one pass ( 50k points after first purchase ) but not for the sapphire card i called recon a few times
but thay wont approve me for to many recent apps

my question is should i try to call them again cuz thay keep on telling me
that thay see i called a few times regarding this issue ( to cancel my co card and transfer the credit to the sapphire card ) or mabey i should stop calling

and lets say i will call them should i do it now before getting my bouns points or it realy dosent matter ??

First of all, if you haven't offered to transfer credit lines or close 'em, call back and ask.

Also, call towards the end of 30 days from your application date (but not 30 or more), maybe you'll have better luck then.

look my post again please .

i offered them 5 times to close my card the co . and then to get the sapphire card but thay keep on saying that thay need a active card in this cace the sapphire card to transfer the credit line to it. cuz thay need to fill in a number in the blank spot so without having the cc number thay are not able to do that

spoke to recon and cs rep then a superviser even the landing dept. i dont want my account should be red flaged cuz of my calling so much
or i should call after getting the 50k points form co posted to my account ?!?!

I have 2 friends that got turned down even at the executive office, so don't make the readers so excited.

I spoke to someone on the phone today to do the extra 50k and was told that they will look into it and send me a letter within the week. So ill keep you posted on that... fingers crossed.

I guess they cut down. the problem was that my card didnt come till a month after the app. they are so slow compared to amex.

I didn't say that contacting the executive office will elicit immediate approval.
Having a relationship with an executive will, though, give you a much better chance.

Reconsideration denied me again after offering to shift credit lines based on too many recent applications, too many chase cards ( 3 and 1 closed) and to high of an overall credit line. is there anything i can do? can i try again or will it be futile?

I tried them too. If the csr is too interrogative, ask for a supervisor or anyone else.
I found that most offshore(read ESL) representatives were robotically wired
with some no-clemency attitude.

I agree. I spoke with a CSR today at Citi and she swore all day cant do it, cant do it, cant do it but I spoke to supervisor and in one minute she said sure no prob.

So keep at it.
