Yeah but I've read posts from people here saying that's exactly what they did and the Chase reps helping them didn't care at all.

Recently? Even if it's doable, it isn't easy and wouldn't fly with every recon rep.

Oh ok, is there a 60 day waiting period after closing a Saph Pref before applying for a new one? Similar to Amex?

Can I have them transfer my CL from the Saph Pref to another of my Chase cards when I close it?

With Chase 30 days (a full billing cycle) should be sufficient.

You can move your credit line when closing a card.

Thanks! Now the question is, do I wait until my 7% points dividend posts in Jan or just cancel now and get that 30 day timer started.

I was one of the people who got the 100k bonus so the points dividend should be pretty decent.

If they just matched it then you won't get the 7%, because it's registered as a "courtesy adjustment".

Do you know for a fact that courtesy adjustments don't count?

this has been discussed in a lot of Forums. that's what it seems to be. Otherwise, a person can transfer million miles back and forth from one account to another, and they all come up as courtesy adjustments, so this will earn a lot of miles.
I personally would love to be proven otherwise, but that won't make sense.

Points transfers show up as points transfers, adjustments show  as adjustments. Just because transfers don't qualify, doesn't mean adjustments don't either.

You might be right, and I hope so. But 3 senior specialists confirmed me otherwise. I hope that they don't know what they are talking.
BTW, look at your statement, and you'll see that even points transfers show as "courtesy adjustments", but I guess time will tell, just another week.

Online they show differently, meaning Chase can easily differentiate.

I'm not saying it as a matter of fact, I'm just suggesting it is possible.

When exactly is the 7% bonus paid?
Is it on a set date? or the January statement closing date? or is it February?

I want to get the CO OPP before it's too late but I'm afraid I'm going to have to close my SP to use its credit line to get approved, but I don't want to miss out on the 7%

anyone have any ideas?

Unlike other cards? Chase has been known to only approve Visa Signature cards with a $5k CL, but later willing to cut the CL below $5k.

You're saying it's possible? MMMV?

Does anyone have any experience with this?

I tried to move part of my sp cl to get a new card approved and the recon rep said the sp can't be lower than 5k. (My sp has a 5k cl and therefore none of the cl could be moved.) Just my experience.

Does anyone have any experience with this?

I got approved for a SouthWest Visa Signature card with a $2k CL by moving over $1k from another card. Does that count, or does it specifically have to be SP?

Why did you have to move 1K over? they told you the minimum is $2K?

AFAIK all Visa Signature's have a min CL of $5K, unless of course, you say you have one with $2K?!
