Apparently it has to do with when you actually got your SP card. I think I read if you received it before June or July then you would still get the 7% on your signup bonus. YMMV

I got both these cards in August.

Just letting you know what I read. Maybe it was August. Either way I am sure we are going to see plenty of people who got it on the signup bonus and more who didn't.

I have sent them several SM's on two SSN's.  They would not budge.

Feb '12? I think there was a date you needed the card by to get it.

Yes I opened in Feb. 12.

I transferred the points out and closed the card that day to avoid the fee.

Of course  :)

Although sometimes I wonder if there is a point in having a credit limit of more than 20k.

just be aware mmerms. Transferring ur CL isn't always so good. For example if you write you make 100k and u have 100k worth if credit from all your cards from chase and u want to close one down and open a new one if prob advise those to just lose the CL so this way to be able to get it back with the new cards. They might say no quicker if u have a huge credit, even if u can transfer.

I currently have a Sapphire MC
I want to apply for the another Sapphire card
and like in the past i will tell them i need a VISA because blah blah....
and last time they closed down my other sapphire card and moved the CL

my question is (and I dont remember what happened last time);
if they were to close my current sapphire,
what happens to my UR points that i already have thru my current Sapphire MC ?

please help me out.

If you don't have some other UR card open you will lose them all. Do you have a Freedom card by any chance?

I am in the same boat. If I close my MC to get a Visa, I can move my points to my freedom, however, is there a limit on how many times you can move a large balance of points around?

Thanks

Just a suggestion, there are some other awesome chase cards, why only sticking with the SP.

Another data point.  Signed up for the MC in 6/12.  Got the 7% on the signup bonus.

Following up on the recent questions about switching to Visa from MC...what are good reasons to give for switching from a MC to a Visa (last time they accepted, I have too many Visas, I need an MC)

Thanks
