Crazy how fragile newer phones are.
I've dropped my Note Edge without a case at least a dozen times without consequence.

Def.  I'd forgo wireless charging on any new device if they would build em with better quality. My HTC 10 as well. Aluminum is way better than glass.

My wife has it. Her battery is shot and never lasts a day.
I bought new batteries from VZW for my Note Edge and it's like a new phone.

That's why I just upgraded from my S6.  Battery became a PITA.  I'm loving the S8 so far though; my only regret in not going for the +.  I don't like large phones but it's not that bad.

Just got my S8.

I hate the fact that the home button and fingerprint reader were moved to the back. I may have to stay with my S7

Samsung took another step backwards

What home button on the back?  Are you looking at an LG?

Gotta love planned obsolescence  ::)

I wonder how much longer my Note Edge will hold out?

I only had that issue on the S6, no other Samsung phones or tablets.  And the camera started acted wonky.  And the VZW TIV promotion is giving me $360 for my S6 so good riddance.

I'm too lazy to look, what's the size comparison between the Note Edge and S8+?

If it's running well I think you're good until at least the new note comes out.

Am I the only one who doesn't use the fingerprint scanner?

I don't feel a need to lock my phone.

I would use it if it was on the front like I did with my S7. Using Facial recognition but not working too well especially at night.

And you are worried about people breaking into your phone? Do you use a lock now?

I only started to when I started using Android Pay.  But if I'm not for a while I don't have it locked usually.

I cannot stand how the microphone is only at the bottom of the phone. I've made countless inaudible voice notes already. The most natural way to hold the phone for me is at the bottom.

OTOH the phone in general is really great. Battery life has been awesome. I use it pretty heavily and I'm having around 30% at the end of the day.

Give it time. The S6 was also good the first week.

I have had great battery life the first few days as well, hope it stays like that. They say that the battery shouldnt decrease capacity as much as previous batteries

not that many right now. I kept around 25 of the apps I had on my s6 (on top of whatever comes preloaded) and will add more apps as needed. I had a ton on my s6 but most of them were only used on rare occasions.

I think it may have only applied to preorders.  $15 statement credit for 24 months.

If anyone needs the s8 launcher (Samsung 7.0+ only)

1. Download the apk below
2. Clear Stock launcher "Touchwiz Home" data and cache from settings.
3. Install apk
4. If launcher crashes, clear data and cache again.
5. Press Home button it should work.
