Citibank Financial Review
« on: May 14, 2011, 11:33:59 PM »
I know its been discussed in various places, and in general Citi does not FR...but,

My brother just applied for the for the citi AA trio.

He got requests for the 4506T which is the same form amex requests when doing an FR. From searching it seems like one person here got that request.

He dies have other credits cards, just none with citi yet.

He is learning in yeshiva, a dependent of the rents, no income etc...he used my parents income amount when applying. Is there any harm in signing it? Likely they will take it to the IRS and see he never filed a return before.

Has anyone else gotten that request before?

thanks for all of your thoughts!

Try telling Citi that he's a dependent living in his parents house and see if they'll accept their 4506T?
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

+1. No income and it's unlikely he'll get approved IMHO.

I did a Citi 3BM, got requests for 4506-T on 2 of them and rejected on the other. When I called to explain that I started my job in 2011 and therefore they can't verify my income by pulling my 2010 tax return the rep said they look at the tax return to verify personal information. I don't mind them pulling the tax return if indeed they don't take it to mean that I misreported my income and I don't mind sending them my pay stubs. But I did notice in the letter it says submitting the 4506-T authorizes them do pull an additional credit bureau report, which would suck considering I only got one pull so far for all 3 apps.

Anyone have any experience with this? Should I just send the 4506-T in and if they reject me call back and offer to send my pay stubs? Any other possible way around this?

Please advise.

I was 4506-t on both my personal cards...I sent in 4506-t and thus far they have not received it officially. Supposedly takes 10 days from mail dept to credit mgmt and a buncha other BS. I sent it in 2 weeks ago from today... I told the rep yesterday that instead of me calling you to check you guys should be calling me, and after this is done i expect another year annual fee waived and some other type of compensation.

Anyone ever hear of Citi FRing for paying of a CC with a Citi account on another name? Any risk?

Whew!

Applied for 2 cards for my wife a little less than 3 months ago. Got declined on both, with a 4506-T form in the mail to boot.  I ignored the form because she didnt have another citi card to lose. I just reapplied for the 75K amex and the 75K citi visa for her and got approved for both...

I also used my own FF#, which I hope will get me closer to gold status. holding my breath if that aspect works...

honestly dont remember. I dont think so. I wrote a large post about the outcome in the citi AA 75k thread and dont have the patience to find it.
I think they asked me my (my brothers) income. I told them it was zero as I (he) am a student. They asked if i (he) was over 21 which he isnt. If i remember correctly they said they cant approve him as if you are under 21 you can include your parents income.

Great news (YMMV of course): Citi asked for various ID's and a 4506T for an 18 year old without any personal income (has household income but Citi does not accept that as mentioned above). I went thru all the motions including sending the 4506T. It took nearly 2 months, but the approval finally came through today, notwithstanding income. I had a feeling this would happen. Note that this person is an AU on an AMEX with a hefty unused credit line.

I know this is an old thread but are there any updates? I just applied for amex and visa AA cards was declined for visa and the amex they want the 4506 form. I told them i just started working and never filed taxes so they told me its not for income verification and its just to verify personal info.

I don't really care to be declined for this card I'm just afraid that it will raise flags at the IRS.

Is it worth sending?

Anyone get a request recently for IRS form 4506-T ?

I applied for a card from them, and the response (via mail) was that I need to fill this form and send it to them by the end of the month.
I only paid 15% by switching to dansdeals

Yeah, I applied for another AA card in August and was asked to send in this form. Showed up to my house 3 weeks later, and I just got approved for the card 3 days ago...

Even though this happened about 2 years ago, It may be of interest to some of you.

I applied for some cards at Citi for a younger sibling who had no tax returns filed. Citi asked for the 4506T. We sent it in even though there were no returns on file, and about 2 weeks later Citi approved her application. Apparently as others have mentioned, Citi is not looking strictly for income, or they may not be doing a great job in their research, Either way, if you get the request for the 4506T it's probably worth it to send it in.
