AA to Hilton Transfer
« on: May 15, 2011, 06:45:10 AM »
Wondering if points can be transferred to a HH account with a different name?

Approximately how long does the transfer take?

Is this really worth it at 1:2?

Depends on what you are using the HH points for.

Any other way to get large amounts of HH?

They've actually changed the rate to 3:5 which sucks.

So that other site's mileage converter isn't accurate, what's new...

From a little research it seems the names don't need to match and the transfer normally is pretty quick, from 24 hours but can take as long as 5 days.

Nope, WebFlyer.
Months out of date on this one.

In general its probably accurate due to most exchanges not changing but always good to double check.

They were just selling HH points at .49 cpp or so, so this would value AA at .8 or so...

The name doesn't need to match. It usually takes a couple days (I transferred about ten times).

Nope, not bad at all!
There were actually a ton of 100K packages.  I stocked up myself on quite a few :)

So if not Hilton, after flight redemptions what would you say is the best value redemption?

Hilton isn't terrible if you don't want flight redemptions, but you probably could do better with car/hotel awards I think.

Can hilton be transfered back to aa? That will make it possible to top off an aa account without spg in your name
Edit: It can be done but the rate is 10k hilton-1500 aa. It would cost 6k aa to get 1500k aa into a different account which is definately not worth it
