our flight back to los angeles got canceled and now we're stuck in mammoth in a crazy storm. if we try to rent a car it'll cost around $70, but the drop-off fee is $250. Is there any other way to get back that won't be so expensive? (party of 5)

I know the city, bishop, is somewhat near but they only have private airplanes....which would also cost a lot... any chance Alaska Airlines can reimburse us if we take that flight?

Alaska will not reimburse private plane, what is the distance in driving and will that help you get to your destination faster then flying next day

Were the flights booked on a card that offers travel insurance? That may reimburse for the rental car cost if you decide to drive back..

So if you are a party of 5 and can't afford to wait for the next flight and can't get a cheaper rate on car rental then driving sounds ideal, although you can't be guarantee how much Alaska will reimburse etc...

That's genius! we booked it on the chase ink business card. do you have any experience with travel insurance for that card or should i call them up and ask. Thank you for all the help by the way.

Call Chase, not sure their exact policy. They'll let you know what the coverage and requirements are.
