Can OnePass miles be used to book hotel rooms?
« on: May 15, 2011, 10:00:58 PM »
I thought they could, but can't find anything about that on the OnePass website.  I am looking for a place to stay in Vermont and Starwood only has two options there - neither of which is to my liking.  I would like to use either CO or AA miles to book a hotel.

Rarely a good use of miles...
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

I am looking at the "Holiday Inn Rutland Killington Area" in VT,  in the OnePass rewards search.  I see that if I pay all in cash for the dates of  7/10-7/15 it will cost about $465.  If I pay just 10k miles though, and the rest in cash, it will cost me about $271.  That means for 10k miles I am shaving off almost $200.  It seems like a good use of miles to me.  Each additional 10k miles spent beyond the first 10k will only take $80 off the price.  Your thoughts? (Dan or anyone else)

PS - I have about 45k miles in the account I plan to use and another 55k in a seperate account.  With a Sapphire app pending since Sunday.  I also almost never fly....my only travel goal besides a VT/NH road trip this summer is to fly with my wife and daughter to Israel next summer, and that's more than enough time to accumulate the miles.
