Hard Inquiry - Bankof
« on: February 23, 2017, 05:33:51 PM »
hi

i called to the number back of my card to have a increase of my limit, i specifically ask a few time to the rep if i will have a Inquiry (didn't mention hard or soft) for that, she told me NO.

and now i login to 'credit sesame' and it show me a hard pull form Bankof !!

so i called and speak now to a specialist credit (this what she told me) and she told me that they will lessen to the tape of my call in, and if i am right they will turn the inquiry from Hard to Soft.

she will call me back after the week-end with the result

my question is : do i can force them to take it off completely ? and if yes how ?

or what other option i have here ?

Thanks !

* it is a BankAmericard CASH REWARDS VISA

I'm sorry that you are so smart and know everything there is to know about bank accounts and credit cards, and how they effect your credit score. But maybe you can help people with that knowledge instead of giving vague answers and getting annoyed at people.
I'm not who you think I am.

I'm referring to the opening of a new thread and asking a question in barely coherent, misspelled English. I have nothing against questions and I'm always happy to answer if I know but this is something I'm not willing to put up with.

I didn't know that we need to have a degree in English to ask a question and help from the community !!

And I see that with my "misspelled English" you did (after all) understand exactly my question/issue, so if you don't know how to anwser/help to this specific thread so please do not answer!

As you have shown in this post, you are able to write coherent sentences in English.

When seeking help from people, I think it is minimal decency to pay attention and formulate your question in a somewhat coherent manner (not asking for anything that requires a degree in English. Heck, I don't even have a high school diploma, but a certain degree of decency and etiquette is to be expected).
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

Grow up, guys!  No one tries to misspell or write incoherently on purpose.

As smart as you are, a smarter person would know the difference between a fast typo (one missing letter or adjacent letter mixups), a foreigner doing his best to write a post not in his native tongue (look for missing end of word 'morphemes' such as 's' and 'ing'),  a dyslexic poster (often brilliant people, just didn't/couldn't learn correct spelling), and our new generation who, unfortunately, takes the more and more commonly accepted shortcuts with homophones (your= your or you're, to=to or too, there=there or their or their).

If you have an issue with misspelled words (as I do), why not post it in Grammar and Spelling 101 to help instead of to bash?  If you must correct, then what about a nice FTFY with a  :) ?
Must a member have a minimum 120 IQ to participate in this forum?  Must he have as much knowledge as you otherwise he is not allowed to give his .02?  Do we feel good to intimidate our members enough that they are afraid to post?

Awaiting my backlash.... ::) :)

Thanks for the English lesson  :D ;D :)

I would have withheld all comments, if not for the fact that the poster showed that he is capable of better. We have lots of fun here at DDF with grammar and spelling errors. Having minimal etiquette and respect, when seeking help, is to be expected here at DDF, and elsewhere.

The option is to have it turned from hard to soft, and for your purposes, doing that is what you want. If they do that, you're good.

You can indeed be proud of yourself. But please take even more pride in yourself going forward and give it your best when seeking help. We know you can!!!

When seeking help try to be as clear as possible. It is a sign of disrespect to not try to formulate your question clearly and in an easily understood manner. If you can't take the time to be clear and put in a bit of effort why should someone make the effort and help you?
Add that the op didn't read the rules about searching or not opening a new thread (on page 1 is the credit score thread and cc misc questions. Either one would be a good place to post).

As one who did not learn proper English in my childhood education, I find this chrome extension very helpful grammarly.com
