« on: May 16, 2011, 02:13:25 PM »
Mine use to be to have them all as a draft in my Gmail account, but I am starting to get scared.

Whats your advice?

wow... thanks for sharing. Now who knows who is going try to access your gmail.

Use an encrypted cheat sheet.

Each letter and number is given a random character as a substitute.

How could a random character be a substitute? Do you even have a clue how encryption (public-key) works?

I use trucrypt, to encrypt an entire usb stick.

password protecting any office document is worthless.

Why do I have a feeling that a lot of Lakewood'ers now have "Pot@t0Kuge1" as their password?
I already hacked 2 accounts  :)

Been using KeePass in conjunction with Dropbox for the past year or so... Only issue I am having now is using KeePass on Mac OS X, other than that by having it in a Dropbox folder it will keep it in sync across all your computers/phones (there is a KeePass client for Android)

P.S KeePass is open source

I used to store some passwords on my blackberry's app password keeper, until I had to reset (a full hard reset) my phone and lost everything since my last backup to computer.  Unless you are backing up regularly this isnt the best way either.

I think that is the way to go.  Worst case, you have to reset the password.

That could be a lot of usernames and passwords to remember.

I have a pretty elaborate password scheme/system I've devised. It's fairly elaborate and if I explained to you how it works you could guess my password anywhere once you know one password. Without the explanation, knowing even a few passwords won't help you.

What bugs me is that each site has different rules for passwords and far as length, allowed characters (i.e. can I use @#$% etc.), required characters and so on. Most sites don't even post the rules (using a JavaScript hover-over bubble or something) near the password box.
