Sprint upgrade status early?
« on: December 17, 2008, 10:16:33 AM »
Hey folks, I doubt this is possible since I've been asking around all the Sprint forums and chat boards, but I figured I'd ask the yiddishe cups in here before I give up.

This week there are some killer sales at Best Buy for phone upgrades (Touch Pro is normally $399 with a $100 rebate, but this week is $199, no rebates). I want in, but I've got 5 more months until I'm eligible for the full 2 year upgrade pricing.

Can anyone think of a way to get them to give me the upgrade status early?
I've called retentions, executive services, etc... they seem to be pretty solid in "sorry sir, we can't do that to SERO lines".
I know they CAN, they just don't want to. Maybe I'm speaking to the wrong people or not giving the right excuses?

And BTW, you guys, even if you DON'T want a touch pro, this is a sick deal and you could totally make a killing on ebay with them.

"Make a killing on eBay"??

They're only $100 cheaper than they usually are. How much would they go for already on eBay?

Eli, the phones are $570 retail, and are out of stock in most Sprint corporate stores. Look on ebay, they average around $450-$500, some approaching more than retail (I've seen $600+ as a buy it now) as the holidays approach.

Charles, I've tried, but the more I try the more they notate my account that I'm trying, and the less likely the next person is to allow it.
Normal procedure is to give it some time, call about some random things to bury the notes, but the sale is over tomorrow so I guess I'm out.
