Topic Wiki

Mexico City has a very large Jewish community and many things to do, in fact Mexico City has the most museums of any city in the world.

Things To Do

Xochimilco - pronounced ( sochi milko)  - Rent a boat for a few hours, boat will take you along the canals, most boats have tables and chairs, many people bring their own food and have lunch ect on a boat. there are other boats in the water with bands playing music and selling food / drinks. along the canals are also some shops a restaurants. Definitely a relaxing way to spend a few hours.

Centurion Lounge is in both T1 and T2. The one in T1 is a dump like the rest of the terminal. The one in T2 is excellent.
Read here for more info on the lounges.

Brief TR: was in MEX for 2 days we felt reasonably safe and have never seen a city with so many police officers ;).
I stayed mostly in the affluent Polanco area where the Hyatt regency is located and most of the (pretty big) Jewish community lives.

Sinai bakery was the only cafe that seemed to be open in the morning we ate there both days great pastries and they prepare sandwiches coffee etc.

Dinner we ate at gauche grill, food was amazing and well priced they bring the raw stakes out to you to choose which we though was weird... minestrone soup was great and freshly made hummus.

HR has beautiful architecture with a multi story lobby, the rooms were 90’s nice, full marble toilets etc dated but pretty nice. The Ac did not seem to keep up and we were a little hot at night. Service was great.

Uber is on the cheap with a half hour ride to the airport being around $6.
Hope this helps someone... 😀😀

I'm heading to Mexico city in two weeks. Is there a limit on the number of cleaning ladies you can bring back? Asking for a friend.

I need to head to Mexico City for a few days and was wondering if anyone has had any luck with Kosher breakfast through Hyatt Globalist?
Also any recommendations regarding places to eat (and take clients to)?

Was in Mexico City twice. First time we stayed at the HR Mexico City, which is a great hotel. Within walking distance of some Kosher places and the Jewish neighborhood. The second time stayed at the Holiday Inn & Suites Mexico Zona Reforma, hotel was comfortable, but location less ideal.

I was there a few months ago and got a very centrally located Airbnb in Polanco. was about $50 a day, very nice, safe neighborhood. If you need help PM me. Also, I Ubered everywhere and recommend the same, as Ubers cost literally a few dollars and parking can get difficult.
I don't have too many food recommendations, but keep in mind that Magen David there has a Mehadrin list which is the better hashgacha. Many establishments carry it but not all.
