Catches are:
1. You're on be hook for taxes, could be that's not the case if your plan price "includes" taxes.
2. If you change your plan it's no longer free and they'll start charging you.
+1. Chatted a rep about this and they said there would be credits for the line charge, but not for the taxes (I'm on Simply Choice).

I'm on simply choice, and for me to add another line, it was $10 a month plus tax. So a total of $17. I added this line for $7 (just tax) as opposed to switching to the t-mobile one plan which would've cost me more than $7
Memories last forever, make them while you can.

+1. I currently have 10 lines for $127.50 ($150 less 15% discount) plus $~50 tax. That's less than $20 per line all in. 10 lines on ONE comes out to $30 per line, so unless I absolutely need ONE's unlimited data, that'd be a terrible idea.

15% discount? How?
I'm not who you think I am.

Wouldn't I use my two free lines from November if I did that?

DOE or CUNY, don't remember which. Not sure if it can still be added.

Yes, you would lose them. I rather keep Simple Choice though as I get truly unlimited music and videos with music freedom and binge on that T-mobile removed from the ONE plan.

Same here. I'm asking what the reasoning of those willing to switch to One is.

If they didn't get the November promo, it can make sense to take advantage of kickback for lines using less than 2gb of data and also if they need the extra 3gb of LTE for the hotspot. Also they can sign up for t-mobile one plus for $5/month/line gogo unlimited (not worth it) and 2x data speeds abroad (256 kbps won't get you anywhere, so I just get a local SIM that I stick in my iPad). I think in the long run T-mobile will introduce more and more promo limited to T-mobile ONE accounts, but I will just wait until they decide to discontinue it and offer to match all my free lines.

no reason to not take this offer, I never got any free offers yet, and have 7 lines with only 2gb each line.

In AsherO's case and me who got the November promo we would be losing about $20 a month for 5 lines on T-Mobile one (that is if we could switch now but we can't because the promo won't work if we cancel lines now) but most importantly I value Binge On and Music Freedom too much to switch.

Simple Choice is eligible as well. Please follow my quotes and you'll understand the discussion.

I was wondering the same. He may be implying that t-mobile one has the features you were mentioning, or he understood you to be saying you couldn't get a free line on simple choice

Not sure, can't find the original quote from skyguy918 (whom I didn't quote), other than that this looks good:

I simply didn't understand what you meant by simple choice is eligible as well. I know it is but I was telling myi that if someone on simple choice profited from the 2 free lines in November and wanted to change now they would need to start paying for these lines in order for the new line to be free. If they cancel them then they don't qualify for the offer because people who have canceled lines after 2/27 don't qualify.

T-Mobile customer service just told a colleague of mine that if you cancelled a line anytime during the last 90 days then you aren't eligible.
